Emissivity Labels
Compensating correctly for emissivity is one of the most critical components to performing accurate inspections. Even small errors in determining emissivity cause very large errors in the results of an inspection.
Emissivity labels give thermographers a point of reference with a known emissivity. Use these target labels to assist in focusing and as measurement points. Perfect for bus bar joints in covered runs. White box for recording joint number and trending data. 0.95 emissivity eliminates issues with reflection, standardizes a reference point, aids in more accurate temperature calculations.
Emissivity is the ratio of radiant energy emitted by an object, divided by the radiant energy a black body would emit at the same temperature. A gray body is an object which maintains the same emittance at all wavelengths. There are industrial materials that change their emissivity due to variables including temperature.
