Welcome to the first 2011 issue of The Insider, Atlas Inspection Technologies’ quarterly newsletter!

With spring outages, shutdowns, and systems maintenance upon us, now is the time to optimize your seasonal inspections by assessing your specific needs. Whether equipment or staff, making the right choices can make a significant difference to your budget and execution timeline.

No two inspections are the same, and one size does not fit all. Budgets are still tight, and timelines are short. In today’s economic climate, companies in the industrial and manufacturing sectors need access to flexible options – flexibility in equipment choices (rental, purchase, or repair), flexibility in staffing options (in-house or outsourced), or any combination of the above.

Technology is also going to play a key part this year. From Corona cameras for the detection of partial discharge on electric grid components and tracking on medium-voltage switchgear to Panoramo optical scanners for pipes, vessels, and manholes, such tools are making inspections a lot safer, faster, and more cost-effective. But as equipment becomes more sophisticated and specialized, so do also staff training needs, a critical component unfortunately too often overlooked.
